Overview
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is the only committee solely dedicated to electing a Democratic Senate. From organizing to fundraising to candidate recruitment, the DSCC works around the clock to re-elect Democratic senators and send new leaders to Washington who will move our country forward.
The Challenge
We’re working to protect our Senate Majority. Senate Democrats made history in 2022. We’re fighting to do it again in 2024 by defending and expanding our Senate majority. La Machine was brought on by the DSCC to help secure a win in Arizona in the Sen Mark Kelly vs Blake Masters race, by ballot curing in Nevada with the Sen. Cortez Mastro vs. Lexit race and lastly to secure a win in the runoff election with the Sen. Raphael Warnock vs Herschel Walker campaign.
Arizona and Georgia are predominantly “red states.” By assisting with securing the wins, La Machine was instrumental in being part of helping to keep the Senate Majority Democratic, and also helping Arizona “turn blue.”
Our Approach
La Machine initially won a contract to work on a trial basis for the DSCC. This initial contract was to canvas for Senator Mark Kelly’s campaign. They were to work on the door-to-door connection with voters, which La Machine has vast experience in. Our canvassing teams predominantly focused on targeting voters who had not voted in some time, who identified as Democrats or were undecided. We were given an initial goal of 40,000 doors and at the end of the project, the 4 teams surpassed over 200,000 doors, further securing Sen. Kelly’s win for senate.
La Machine was given a second contract in Las Vegas, Nevada to assist with ballot curing for Sen. Cortez Mastro’s re-election campaign. This project is significant because this would not only secure a “blue seat” yet again in the senate, but Sen Cortez Mastro is the first Latina Senator to be elected. La Machine sent a team from Arizona and Las Vegas to go door to door, assisting those whose ballots were not counted due to errors or missed signatures.
The final contract that La Machine was given was to canvass 20,000 doors in Norcross, GA. This contract was working for Sen./Reverend Raphael Warnock’s runoff election against Herschel Walker. The focus that the canvassing teams worked on was to connect with voters in Georgia who were specifically undecided. At the end of the project, the team knocked on over 55,000 doors, 35,000 doors above the initial goal. This in turn helped secure a win, completing the goal of making the US Senate “blue.”
Results
The most impact that La Machine has had while working with the DSCC is quite significant. The work that La Machine employees have done is instrumental in the US Senate because they have helped to change it to Democratic Majority. With each of the 3 projects assigned, La Machine employees’ work was increased exponentially because of how well the team completed the assignment. As a result, the DSCC wants to work on tripling the work for La Machine in the 2024 senate races nationwide. They also want them to start a side business of phone banking and contract work for La Machine to do with that as well.
